The Warriors traveled to Lehi where they came up short allowing the only goal with only ten minutes left in the game. They had several good opportunities after this but couldn't get the ball in the net. Congratulations girls on a great season. End of season party info will be posted soon.

Snow Canyon 1 Maple Mountain 0

In their first state game Snow Canyon defeats Maple Mountain 1 to 0. The goal was scored by Cecilee Horlacher off of a Liz Ricks assist. The state quarterfinals will be held Thursday at 4:00 at Lehi.

Snow Canyon 5 Desert Hills 0

In their last region game of the year Snow Canyon beat Desert Hills 5 to 0. Goals were scores by Liz Ricks, Michelle Wood, Tori Bergen and Sara Henderson (2). Assists came from Kylie Moore and Cecilee Horlacher. The Warriors will play host to Maple Mountain in the first state game on Tuesday October 13th at 4:00 PM.

Snow Canyon 2 Cedar 1 OT

Michelle Wood score off an assist from Tori Bergen and Liz Ricks headed the ball in off a Callie Stewart cross as Snow Canyon beats Cedar 2 to 1 in OT. The win clinches 2nd place and sets up the possibility of a home playoff game. Next up for SC Desert Hills at home on Friday.

Snow Canyon 2 Hurricane 1

Snow Canyon beat Hurricane 2 to 1 Thursday. Liz Ricks headed the ball in off a Michelle Wood assist and Sarah Gunn put one in the net with an assist from Arianna Weide. Next up for the Warriors Cedar at Cedar on Tuesday 10/6 at 4:00PM. This win clinched a playoff spot for the Warriors.

Snow Canyon 3 Dixie 1

Michelle Wood, Cecilee Horlacher and Kylie Moore score as the Warriors beat Dixie 3 to 1 in Region play. Next up for SC Hurricane at Hurricane Thursday 10/1 at 7:30.

Snow Canyon 3 Canyon View 1

The Warriors defeated Canyon View by a score of 3 to one. Michelle Wood scored 2 goals and was assisted by Liz Ricks and Arianna Weide. Then in the second half Liz sent a great through ball that Kylie Moore caught up to and put in the net. The girls played great from defense through the midfield to forward. Amy Harris played the whole second half in the goal for SC. Next up for the Warriors Dixie on Tuesday 9/29 at 7:30 @SCHS

Pine View 4 Snow Canyon 2

Michelle Wood scored off an Arianna Weide assist and Tori Bergen added a goal for the warriors. Next up Canyon View on Thursday 9/24.

Snow Canyon 1 Desert Hills 0 OT

The Warriors win their fourth straight game as they beat Desert Hills 1 to 0 in overtime. The "golden goal" was scored by Cecilee Horlocher off of a Whitney Warburton assist. The defense of Tori Bergen, Elyse McKenna, Whitney Warburton and Autumn Shipp and Kylie Moore in the goal stifled Desert Hills attack all game allowing just three shots on goal. It was a great team effort. Next up for SC is Pine View next Tuesday 9/22 at 7:30 at Pine View.

Snow Canyon 1 Cedar 0

Snow Canyon defeated Cedar 1 to 0 in a region matchup. It was Snow Canyons 3rd game of the week and there 3rd win in a row. The lone goal was scored in the 25th minute when Arianna Weide made a great cross that was struck solidly by Callie Stewart into the left side of the goal. It was the first time the Warriors have put together 80 minutes of good soccer. They had many good opportunities to score and defensively held Cedar to just a couple of shots. The girls played great from defense to midfield to forwards. A good all around team effort with Sara Russell having a particularly strong game. With Desert Hills beating Pine View and Snow Canyon winning three games this week the region race has tightened. Below are the top three in region with their point total. Remember a win is three points and a tie is one point.

The Warriors went to Dixie High on Wednesday to make up the game that was canceled because of "lightning" last Thursday and came away with the victory. After a not so well played first half the girls came together at halftime to regroup and play well in the second half. Goal scorers for Snow Canyon were Cecilee Horlacher with an assist from Sara Gunn, Callie Stewart and Arianna Weide. Next up for the Warriors will be Cedar High at Snow Canyon tomorrow 9/10 at 7:30.

Snow Canyon defeated Hurricane 4 - 0 Tuesday night. Liz Ricks scored first off a Michelle Wood assist for the lone goal in the first half. In the second half Michelle had another assist as Amber Graff convincingly headed the ball into the goal. Kylie Moore scored with an assist coming from Autum Shipp and Sarah Henderson scored off an assist from Ariana Weide. Cecilee Horlacher was in the goal most of the game for the shutout. Amy Harris and Shelby Hornbeck also played in the goal. The girls played great from defense up to the front line and from freshman through seniors as everone was able to get some playing time. Next game Varsity only, tomorrow (Wednesday) at 5:30 at Dixie High.

Dixie Game Re-Scheduled

The Dixie game that was postponed because of lightning last Thursday has been re-scheduled for Wednesday 9/9 at 5:30PM at Dixie. Players should be at Dixie High by 4:45PM.

Dixie Game Rescheduled

The JV game ended early because of lightning with the Warriors up 1 to 0. The Varsity game was postponed 22 minutes before its scheduled start time even though the weather was clearing. The varsity game will be rescheduled.

Olympus 2 Snow Canyon 1 OT

Snow Canyon took their only road trip of the preseason to Salt Lake City to play Olympus High School. Liz Ricks scored the only goal with an assist by Sarah Henderson to push the game into overtime. Kylie Moore turned back shot after shot to keep SC close. Snow Canyon lost when a couple minutes into OT Olympus scored the "Golden Goal". Next up for the Warriors is Pine View High School on Thursday August 27th at home as the Warriors begin Region Play. On the trip home it was arranged by coaches to get a tour of the new Real Salt Lake Stadium.

Snow Canton 3 Springville 3

Snow Canyon ties their second straight game as the Warriors continue to improve their play together. Kylie Moore scored first for the Warriors off of an assist from Michelle Wood. Then Liz Ricks scored on a penalty kick that was earned when a Springville defender improperly used her hands in the penalty area. The final goal was scored by Liz Rick off of an assist by Amber Graff. Next up for the Warriors Olympus High School at Olympus on Tuesday 8/18.

Snow Canyon 2 Waterford 2

After an ugly first half the Warriors finally started to put things together in the second half scoring 2 goals and ending up with a 2 to 2 tie against Waterford. The first goal was scored by Callie Stewart with an assist from Kylie Moore. The second goal was scored by Liz Ricks with an assist by Callie Stewart. In the goal for the win was Cecilee Horlacher who had some great saves. Next up for the Warriors Springville Friday August 14th at 8:00PM.

East 4 Snow Canyon 1

East High School beat Snow Canyon 4 - 1. Liz Ricks scored the only goal for Snow Canyon while Michelle Wood gets credit for the assist off a corner kick. Next up for the Warriors Waterford on Thursday 8/13.
The JV team won their game against East 3 - 0. Shelby Hornbeck gets the shutout for the Warriors. Callie Stewart had 2 goals and Sara Henderson had 1 goal.

PHYSICALS Tuesday August 11th 6:00PM

Physicals will be next Tuesday, August 11th, at 6:00 pm in the hallway outside the training room. The cost will be $15.

Tryouts will begin August 3rd through August 5th and will be held in the Snow Canyon High School football stadium. Below is the schedule:

CONDITIONING

Conditioning will begin July 20th at 6:30AM. You will need both running shoes and cleats. All training sessions will begin at Warrior stadium. Hope you did some running this summer:)

Summer Camp at DSC

37 girls participated in the soccer camp at Dixie State College and they were broken into three teams. Kunde, PK, and Barry coached the teams. The girls played well and gained a lot of valuable experience.

2008 Region 9 Soccer Champions

The Snow Canyon High School Girls soccer team are region champions for the 2008/2009 schools year. The Boys soccer team also took region making this the first time in the schools 15 year history that both boys and girls were region champs in the same year. This is a new blog where you can follow the team and find out important dates for summer activities such as camps, conditioning and tryouts. Also in the upcoming season we will post schedules and have results and photos for each game.
